PC&E Atlanta

PC&E Atlanta (Production Consultants & Equipment) is a film equipment rental house and cyc wall stage facility on DeFoor Hills Road NW in West Atlanta. Founded in 1983 by Doug Smith and now employee-owned, PC&E calls itself Georgia film’s one-stop shop, supplying cameras, lighting and grip, trucks and expendables to productions across the state and renting its sound stages by the shoot day. The company bills Stage 1 as the Southeast’s largest cyc wall stage.

Stages

• Stage 1: 9,600 square feet with a 60 x 80-foot cyc wall, two indoor loading bays, K13 soundproofing, 2,400 amps of three-phase power, a 50-ton HVAC system and a 5,000-square-foot prep area.
• Stage 2: 5,200 square feet with a 30 x 60-foot cyc wall, two indoor loading bays, K13 soundproofing, 1,800 amps of three-phase power and a 30-ton HVAC system.
• Briarwood Stage: a satellite stage off Briarwood Road with a 55 x 13.5-foot cyc, a 13-foot grid, 900 amps of three-phase power and an 8 x 8 loading door. Unlike the main stages, it comes with a lighting and grip package.
• Styling Kitchen: a styling kitchen rented by the day.

Support rooms

Each stage has a private entrance and its own production support rooms: offices, a green room on Stage 1, wardrobe, makeup and a canteen. A conference room has video distribution from the stage to all offices and support rooms, and the offices can be rented on their own. Briarwood adds a producer office, makeup and wardrobe suite, craft service kitchen and a client suite with a stage view.

Equipment

• Camera department with ARRI, Sony, Phantom, RED and Canon cameras and Leica, ARRI, Cooke and Zeiss lenses, serviced by an in-house lens technician.
• Lighting and grip warehouse, grip trucks from 1-ton vans to 10-tons, and Chapman and Fisher dollies.
• An expendables store on site and online.
