Splashlight Studios

Splashlight Studios rents photo studios, event spaces and a rooftop at 75 Varick Street in SoHo, downtown Manhattan. According to Splashlight, its 15 studios span 70,000 square feet and are set up for high-end photo shoots, motion productions and live events, and the company has worked in fashion photography for more than 20 years. Splashlight also runs a content production business for campaigns, editorial, social media and e-commerce, and its site lists clients including Nike, Target, Tiffany, Hugo Boss, Canada Goose and MAC.

Photo studios

• Studios 1 to 4: 2,400 to 3,000 square feet each with 13-foot ceilings, full infinity cycs (19 by 21 feet in Studio 1, 22 by 24 feet in Studios 2 to 4), eastern or southern daylight, blackout blinds, a private bathroom and two hair and makeup stations. Built-in air walls join them into spaces of up to 10,700 square feet.
• Studio 9: 2,800 square feet with northern and eastern light, a 16-by-22-foot cyc and its own entrance and lobby.
• Studio 10: 4,000 square feet with northern daylight and two 16-by-22-foot cycloramas.
• Studios 5, 6, 7, 11 and 12: five 1,000-square-foot studios with full infinity cycs, private entrances and dressing rooms, rented on their own or combined.
• Panoramic Roof: a 4,000-square-foot landscaped rooftop with indoor space and views of downtown Manhattan, the Hudson River and TriBeCa, for up to 150 guests.

Equipment and production services

Splashlight’s in-house team fills photo, video, digital, grip and electric, set and production orders in the studio and on location. The company also offers casting, styling, hair and makeup, set design, art direction, location scouting, retouching, CGI and video editing.

Building, events and booking

The building has five passenger elevators, two freight elevators and a 24/7 loading dock, and the smaller studios share a private loading dock on Watts Street. Studios come with polished concrete floors, styling kits, lounge and catering areas and high-speed internet, and private conference rooms are available on request. Six of the spaces also host dinners, receptions, fashion shows, screenings and concerts. Shoot dates are requested through the form on each studio page.
