The F Stop Studio

The F Stop Studio is a 4,000-square-foot photography and video production rental studio at 411 North Wolcott Avenue in Chicago’s West Town, a few minutes west of downtown. The studio says it was designed for commercial shoots, brand campaigns, editorial work and motion projects, is owned and operated by a working professional, and has been a hub for Chicago photo and video production since 2015.

Studio, cyc wall and kitchens

• Open shooting floor: a 4,000-square-foot open layout with high ceilings and 45 feet of east- and west-facing windows that bring natural light in throughout the day.
• Cyclorama: a 20-by-13.5-foot cyc wall with a 60-foot approach for fashion, commercial and video work.
• Two commercial kitchens: production-ready kitchens for food stylists, food photography and content creation.
• Client area: a separate lounge with espresso service and remote viewing on a TV.

Productions

According to The F Stop Studio, the space suits fashion, product, food, editorial and lifestyle photography as well as motion production, and it has hosted commercial shoots, independent films, collaborative creative projects and community events.

Location, parking and booking

The studio is about five minutes from I-90/94 with quick access via Ogden Avenue and is close to CTA rail and several bus routes. Free street parking is available, loading is at ground level, and equipment rental houses, cafés, hardware stores and prop shops are nearby.
