Vū Tampa Bay

Vū Tampa Bay is the Tampa, Florida virtual production studio of Vū, the company behind the Vū Virtual Studio Network. According to Vū, the 10,000-square-foot facility in Suite 201 at University Square Mall has two LED stages and an in-house team that handles pre-vis support, virtual art creation and in-camera VFX (ICVFX) operation.

Stages

• Stage 1, LED Volume: 98 feet 4 inches by 16 feet 8 inches, 7,680 by 1,280 total pixels at a 3.9mm pixel pitch. Vū describes it as the stage that started its network.
• Stage 2, Vū One: a flat LED wall of 22 feet 5 inches by 13 feet 3 inches, 3,072 by 1,536 pixels at a 2.9mm pixel pitch, with hourly rentals available.

Software and services

Vū runs its stages on its own Vū Studio software for media playback, real-time image editing, lighting planning and scene building. The Tampa team covers pre-production support, virtual art and ICVFX operation on shoot days, and a Matterport virtual tour of the studio is linked from the location page.

Notable work

According to Vū, Folklore Film shot a spot for The Jeep Depot at Vū Tampa in four hours with a four-person crew, work that would normally take a two-day shoot. Vū says studios in its network have hosted more than 500 productions since 2022, and its clients have included the PGA Tour.
