Melrose Podcasts

Melrose Podcasts runs a staffed video podcast studio on Research Boulevard in North Austin, the newest of its three locations alongside West Hollywood and New York’s East Village. According to Melrose, the Austin studio opened in 2024 with a single deeply lit, film-style set built to the same production standard as its Los Angeles and New York rooms. Melrose says This Past Weekend w/ Theo Von, Blocks w/ Neal Brennan and Unlicensed Therapy w/ Ari Mannis have recorded at the Austin studio.

The Austin set

• Table set: a table set for four on camera, with room for two more people off camera. Shows can hang a sign, place small items on the table or shelves and change the color of the background lights.
• Cameras and audio: full-frame Panasonic S1H 4K cameras, Shure SM7B dynamic microphones, a Zoom F8n Pro multitrack recorder and a Blackmagic ATEM Extreme ISO switcher, per the studio’s equipment list.

Engineer and services

• A trained audio and video engineer runs every session, and video podcasts are shot on the studio’s own multi-camera setup.
• Raw files are normally ready in about eight hours via Google Drive, or can be copied to a client’s own drive.
• Editing and post-production (camera switching, audio cleanup, color, graphics and social clips), remote guests over Zoom or Riverside, and mobile recording at a home, office or event are available.

Parking, hours and tours

The studio has its own lot with free parking and a stocked fridge of complimentary drinks. It keeps no set hours but can accommodate almost any booking time with advance notice. Visits are by appointment, and free 15-minute tours can be booked from the studio’s online calendar.
