Hollywood studio lot with 29 sound stages, a New York Street backlot and event venues
The Studios at Paramount rents sound stages, a New York Street backlot and event venues on Paramount Pictures’ 65-acre lot at 5555 Melrose Avenue in Hollywood. Paramount describes it as the longest-operating and only remaining major studio in Hollywood: Jesse Lasky oversaw construction of the original four-stage studio here in 1926, and Paramount’s Wings won the first Academy Award for Best Picture the next year. Paramount Pictures Special Events hosts premieres, galas, product launches, award shows, upfronts and For Your Consideration screenings across the lot for up to 5,000 guests.
Event venues
Event clients can draw on the studio’s audio-visual, lighting, grip, special effects and décor resources, and catering comes from a list of preferred partners.
Sound stages for production
The lot has 29 sound stages from 5,500 to 18,775 sq ft, more than 360,000 sq ft in all, including audience-rated stages for sitcoms, game shows and talk shows. Stage 5, the largest, is 247 x 76 ft with a 34 ft grid, and the studio publishes power, HVAC and floor-load specs for every stage. Studio services include set lighting and grip, transportation, production offices, editorial, a moulding supply center, sign and graphic services and screening rooms.
Booking
Events are booked through a request-for-proposal form, and stages are reserved through the studio’s production operations team.
