Public TV soundstage and atrium for galas, screenings and live tapings in North Austin
Austin PBS rents Studio A, a working television soundstage, and the other event spaces of its Austin Media Center on the Austin Community College Highland campus in North Central Austin. The 45,000-square-foot building at 6101 Highland Campus Drive is home to Austin’s community-licensed public television station, which calls it one of the largest 12G broadcast facilities in the United States. Austin PBS produces more than 130 hours of original programming a year, including Austin City Limits, which it calls the longest-running music series in American television history, and hosts more than 100 events and workshops annually.

Capacity, production and support
A full buyout of the five rentable spaces holds up to 350 guests. Rentals come with the station’s event and technology support team, high-speed WiFi and an on-site prep kitchen for caterers. The station also tapes its own shows, such as Overheard with Evan Smith, before live studio audiences in the building.
Location, parking and booking
The building stands at Clayton Lane and Wilhelmina Delco Drive, near a public transit station; the station advises navigating to “Austin PBS” rather than the street address, and using 609 Clayton Lane for rideshare. Covered parking in the ACC Highland South Parking Garage is free. Events are booked through an inquiry form on the Rent Our Space page.
