JPR Studios

JPR Studios, also known as Just Push Record, runs automated video podcast studios, and its Austin location on East 5th Street in East Austin is where the company started and where it keeps its headquarters. The building has three rooms, each pre-lit with three synchronized cameras and broadcast microphones that start recording at the push of one button, so hosts can record podcasts, interviews, YouTube series, webinars and audiobooks without an engineer. JPR lists Bun B, Bryan Callen, The Undertaker, Codie Sanchez, Chris Williamson and Bob Odenkirk among the hosts and guests who have recorded at its studios, which now operate in six cities.

Austin rooms

• Austin Studio 1: seats up to four, with one-, two-, three- or four-chair layouts arranged before arrival.
• Austin Studio 2: seats up to three; listed amenities include a lounge area and a sound booth.
• Austin Studio 3: a two-chair room for solo shows and one-on-one interviews.

Recording kit

• Three Sony α6400 cameras, a Rode PodMic at every seat recorded to its own track, and three or more pre-set studio lights in each room.
• Optional 4K recording, an Elgato teleprompter, live streaming to YouTube, Twitch or any RTMP destination, and remote guests on Riverside, Zoom, StreamYard or Google Meet.
• Raw camera feeds and separate audio tracks for each speaker upload to Google Drive after the session; JPR also offers editing and clip packages.

Hours and booking

The Austin rooms are open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and book online with live availability. The studio has Wi-Fi and street parking, on a walkable block of coffee shops and food stops a few minutes from downtown.
