Robert Rodriguez's studio lot with two sound stages, a city backlot and fabrication shop
Troublemaker Studios is the independent film studio founded in Austin in 2001 by filmmaker Robert Rodriguez and producer Elizabeth Avellán. Its secure campus of more than 20 acres on Old Manor Road, about 10 minutes from downtown Austin and 15 minutes from the airport, keeps production offices, sound stages, fabrication, art, wardrobe, props and post-production under one roof. According to Troublemaker, it has delivered more than 100 productions, and its work includes Spy Kids, Sin City, Desperado, Machete, Predators and Alita: Battle Angel. Through its production services, Troublemaker offers stage space, backlot access and fabrication to outside features, series, commercials and music videos; the same stages also host private events and studio tours.
